Licensing and Legal Notices

Blimp installs a set of license and legal documents alongside the application. These files are located in the Licenses subfolder within the Blimp folder in your computer’s Applications directory. The following documents are included with every installation.

In brief, Blimp is provided free of charge for personal, academic, and non-commercial research use; it is distributed “as is” without warranty of any kind; and it may not be redistributed without written consent. Your research data, syntax, and output remain entirely on your local computer.

User agreements and policies

• blimp-eula.txt — End User License Agreement. The license granted to you, ownership and intellectual-property terms, and the conditions of use you accept when installing Blimp.
• blimp-terms-of-service.txt — Terms of Service. The permitted personal, academic, and non-commercial research uses, and the overall agreement governing your use of Blimp.
• blimp-privacy-policy.txt — Privacy Policy. How Blimp handles your data (which never leaves your computer) and the limited, pseudonymous information recorded by the automatic software-update check. Also available online at blimpstats.com/privacy.

Software and third-party licenses

• blimp-base-license.txt — License and third-party acknowledgments for the Blimp computational engine.
• blimp-studio-license.txt — License and third-party acknowledgments for the Blimp Studio graphical interface.
• blimp-graphing-license.txt — License and acknowledgment for the graphing component.
• blimp-examples-license.txt — License covering the example scripts and data sets that accompany this User Guide.
• blimp-beta-license.txt — Additional notice that applies to beta (in-development) builds of Blimp.
